We are considering a new night, Alert! Fetish First. This event will harp back to some of the original concepts of Alert!, making fetish clubbing available to all. The night will have no enforced dress code (and no need for Alert! membership) although fetish gear will be strongly encouraged. It is planned as a social event for people at every stage of developing their fetish interests. We know that many people don’t have much kit or experience and can find entry into our community quite daunting. Fetish First would allow them to mingle with others new to the scene as well as more experienced players. We see this as a way to attract new people to the scene who otherwise have no easy access to fetish clubbing in the region, and also another opportunity for more experienced players to get their kit on and have a great night.
We are considering making this a bi-monthly event, still on a Saturday and maintaining the strict dress code. Let us know your opinion and thoughts.
Update: We have decided to run DEFCON ONE bi-monthly starting from January for a trial period. The next night will be 10th January 2009.

A while ago we opened up an online poll following repeated suggestions over several months that we should exclude Scally gear from the Alert! dress code. After due consideration based on ALL the feedback we have decided to continue to welcome Scallys to the monthly Alert! club night which takes place on the 4th Friday of each month. We also understand that many people want a much stricter night, and that will be catered for by DEFCON ONE.

We have had a number of members suggest that we should stop allowing people into Alert! wearing scally gear. We want to put that question to the vote before we make a decision. Should we continue to allow scally gear? (We want to stress that no decision has yet been taken and as such Scallies are still very welcome at Alert!).
